The Fredericktown Tomato Show, September 8 -11, 2011, is a community street fair that has something for everyone in the family to enjoy. There are exhibits by local citizens, parades, rides, a craft show, and of course, fair food. You can take part in many activities: play Bingo, run in a 5-mile race, bid on a commemorative Fredericktown plate, or just sit back and enjoy the entertainment. The Tomato Show is always held the Wednesday through Saturday after Labor Day.
The 24th Annual Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival, August 11-14, 2011, in Downtown Mount Vernon. The Festival is a celebration of American music commemorating Mount Vernon’s own Daniel Decatur Emmett, the author and composer of many 19th century songs. Emmett’s tunes, such as Dixie, Blue Tail Fly, Ole Dan Tucker, and Turkey in the Straw, bring back the nostalgia of our heritage into each of our hearts. The Festival is a showcase for the talents of musicians, artisans, and crafters from Ohio and beyond.

The Fredericktown Car Show and Bluegrass Festival, August 20, 2011, which raises money for Fredericktown Interchurch Social Services, Fredericktown Salvation Army, Fredericktown EMS, and the Fredericktown Community Fire District, combines traditional bluegrass and old-time string music with a car show which draws classic cars, trucks and motorcycles from throughout the region.
